The article analyzes the role and place of financial and economic provision in the defense security of the country. Methodology serves as a theoretical analysis of the mechanism of financial support of the Armed forces in General and the troop level in particular. The authors come to the conclusion that at the present stage of development of the Armed forces, improvement of their financial and economic provision is in a close relationship with national policies and, first of all, in the public sector. It is represented logical to create an orderly system of objectives, strategies, measures, means of action, aimed at ensuring defense and security of the Russian Federation and is reflected in the consistent development and consistent implementation of a system of interconnected plans and programmes on their financial-economic provision
