Abstract:
Background: This paper focuses on the participation of an interpreter in criminal proceedings of the Russian Federation . The main objective of the study was the fact that the current version of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation is regulated by the notion of an interpreter and some features of its participation in the criminal trial, but many authors have expressed the view that an explanation of the rules and the development of specific requirements that must be presented to the parties in criminal proceedings. Based on the above, the study of this question is relevant in the present socio - economic conditions. Methodology: The study was conducted using the method of scientific analysis in the pre-trial and trial of criminal cases in the Russian Federation. Theoretical basis for the study, made works of scholars such as Dzhafarkuliev M.A., Ishmukhametov Y.M., O. Kuznetsov , S.P. Szczerba , Shevelev I.A. Results: On the basis of the existing opinions , the author formulates his own notion of an interpreter in criminal proceedings and offers a list of requirements for this party in criminal proceedings . Conclusions : The theoretical conclusions resulting from the research can be used for further development of this issue in the scientific literature , as well as the development of practical recommendations for law enforcement.
