P. I. NOVGORODTSEV ABOUT THE CORRELATION OF THE SOCIAL IDEAL AND THE PERSONALITY

In the article are analyzed the views of the outstanding Russian philosopher and jurist P. I. Nivgorodtsev, in particular, the solution him of the problem of the correlation between the personality and social progress. The author of the article concludes that P. I. Novgorodtsev does not refer himself to those, who proceed from the collectivist solution of this problem, does not to those, who focus on the personal approach to its solution. In the opinion of the author of the article, P. I. Novgorodtsev proceeds from the harmony of the interests of the personality and society, and this harmony is based on the prevalence of the personal beginning. In the article notes, that P. I. Nivgorodtsev solves the problem of finding the harmony of the personal and social beginnings very abstract, not revealing the principles of building of such harmony. However, life requires a constant finding of a consensus of personal and social interests, and, unfortunately, very often power-holding make decisions not in favour of the personality.
