Abstract:
This article compares the update and innovative development of the country, on the basis of available data. Provides clarification of definitions of innovation and modernisation, since they are not well established in academic circles. The author concludes that an innovative way forward for the Russian economy more effectively than modernization, which already is a historical stage in the development of the country.
