Abstract:
The subject of this article is the analysis of current, long-term and medium-term consequences of the «cold war» in the world politics of the 20th century and its results in view of the urgency of the political problems connected with the opposition of the past decades. The author tried to answer the questions arising in this connection and proves that in today's conditions the Cold War, being a war not only ideological, but also civilizational, with the defeat of the USSR did not stop. It just moved to a new stage and it camouflaged with new rhetoric. This research based on a number of scientific methods, including historical, institutional, systemic, comparative methods of scientific analysis. The novelty of this research is that the scientific and political science problem under consideration opens a new understanding of the influence of the Cold War on modern world and local politics. According to the author, modern cold wars are primarily geopolitical. A special contribution of the author to the study of the topic is the conclusion that the cold war because of ideological and cultural conflicts that often arise against the confrontation of major actors of world politics can lead not only to serious social and national problems, but also to the split of nations. Its sovereignty and can last for decades, and its outcome is difficult to predict, especially against the backdrop of changing political models of interaction between countries.
