The electoral culture of students of Vladivostok

Goal: Reasons/purposes of writing research. Required references to foreign authors working on the study task. In recent years there has been new features and phenomena in Russian politics. It is important that the growing political activity of young people is particularly evident during the protests in the spring of 2017. However, the activity of the Russian youth is often at a low level, which is inconsistent with the needs of society in the development and characteristics of a democratic model of government. This topic is little studied, so we tried to look at the "youth dimension" of electoral culture in Russia. Theoretical aspects of political participation and electoral culture are studied in the works of A. Marsh and M. Kaase, L. Milbrath, John. Nagel, S. Verba and N. Naya. Model: Methodology /how it was done/scope of study. The study refers to such disciplines as political science and sociology of politics. It is comparative. Work includes empirical and analytical part. The main method of empirical research - a survey in the form of a questionnaire survey. Findings: Discussion/results Research has shown that our city is the electoral culture of student's youth has not yet formed. Political consciousness of the students are mixed with interest and hope for the best on the one hand, and uncertainty about the integrity of the system and the forces on the other. Based on the responses, we can assume also that many students are not confident in their abilities and capabilities in public-political activity. In addition, they generally have little trust in leading politicians, except the President. Political parties, state authorities on different levels, educational institutions should pay more attention to the development of youth policy, including the political education of young people, the provision of opportunities for participation in social and political activities. The scope of the study/possibility of subsequent use of results of scientific work (if applicable): Exclusions/next steps. In the future, we expect to continue the research on electoral culture of young people, touching on the psychological aspects of the electoral and political culture such as political values and political mentality. Practical value: The findings of the study can be used in the formulation of youth policy, how political forces and the state, be taken into account in the electoral and political campaigns. The work of the political actors in our country, there should be more focus on the youth. Originality/value: The work is intended for researchers in the field of political science and sociology, representatives of political parties and youth movements, state structures, heads of electoral commissions. Its originality is associated primarily with the fact that it allows you to look at the elections through the eyes of youth.
