Abstract:
The epistemological problems of using the possibilities of the formal logical instrument are discussed in the article. A category «discovery logic» is in the center of consideration. The category means the search for heuristic mechanisms which makes possible to solve research problems of various scales. The ideas of Imre Lakatos are analyzed in this context. Various possibilities of usage of the «logic of discovery» in the modern cognitive process are demonstrated based on the material of the methodology of history.
