Abstract:
The technique of determining the degree and type of wear of the tire tread pattern during the preliminary examination of the tracks at the site of the road accident, opens up new approaches to the investigation of the tire tread marks "in field" conditions. The basis for the development of the methodology was information and cognitive regularities, revealed as a result of research on a representative empirical regional sample of vehicle tires, and the use of new scientific and technical tools and technical and forensic methods. To improve the efficiency of the preliminary study of the degree and type of tire tread wear, a comprehensive information and analytical database of vehicle tracks was developed in the wake of the traces. The modernized technique of preliminary investigation of the degree and type of tire wear in the tracks of the tread on the scene of an accident includes: - determination of the degree of wear of the tire tread pattern in the volume and surface traces (in the depth of the tread pattern, in the displays of the molding and wear indicators). The system of signs of wear indicators (limiting, warning and additional (alphabetic, alphanumeric, signed) in surface and volumetric traces of tires of domestic and foreign tires for cars and trucks is developed. It allows to establish the degree of wear of the tire tread (strong, medium , weak), and also tentatively determine the size of the tire, its brand, brand line or model of the tire; - determination of the type of tire wear in the volume and surface traces (uniform wear, increased wear of the tread pattern along the edges of the treadmill, increased wear of the tread pattern along the center of the treadmill and others). Determination of the type of wear of the tread pattern in the tire tracks allows to diagnose possible malfunctions of a vehicle that has disappeared from the place of an accident and the driver's ride. The introduction of our methodology for preliminary investigation of the degree and type of wear in the tracks of tire protectors to the activities of the expert and criminalistic and investigative divisions of the internal affairs bodies will make it possible to investigate and disclose not only road traffic crimes but also other crimes committed using vehicles.
