Objectives - This article discusses the professional and psychological preparation for duty in the area of ​​anti-terrorist operations. Updated problems of activity of employees of special purpose mobile units having a large social significance. Model and methods - It is their activity is related to the perceived responsibility for the results of the professional tasks (not comparable with the responsibility of employees under normal conditions), high-risk, danger to life and health. Findings and results - In the present paper proposes a number of measures of practical importance in the training of young staff to undertake operational service (combat) missions. Originality and practical value - Professionally and psychological training of personnel, serving in the area of anti-terrorism actions must play an important role. In order to study the level of preparedness of young employees for duty in the North Caucasus, a survey was conducted in the form of a questionnaire, the results of which are analyzed in the article.
