Abstract:
On the basis of a systematic analysis, the authors of the article present their views on the place of criminalistics in the system of law studies. The goal of the article is to give a definition of criminalistics and to show the specificity of its object and subject-matter. The authors conclude that the object of criminalistics as a system of integrative scientific knowledge about search and cognitive mechanisms, methods and means of remedial activity of authorized law enforcement officials in the excitation stage of criminal proceedings, the preliminary investigation and trial of criminal cases, is scientificly summarized the typical information model (mental images), giving the provision on the form, limits the content of procedural activities of law enforcement officials as of the cognitive system. The subject-matter of criminalistics, in turn, is the totality of all the objects it studies and the results of relevant research of theoretical and applied. These findings have implications for the development of general theoretical provisions of forensic science, and can be used both in research and in educational activities.
