Abstract:
In this article the author examines topical issues of deprivation of liberty in the legislation of the Republic of Abkhazia. The study used scientific methods of cognition, as well as the formal legal and comparative legal methods. The author notes that the main problem arising in the enforcement of sentences of imprisonment, due to the absence of the Executive Penal Code. Conclusions article can be used as a basis for a deeper study of the problem of research. The article can be used in teaching the course "Criminal Law", "Criminal executive law." In its work, the author reveals the specifics of imprisonment as a form of punishment in the Republic of Abkhazia. Analyzes purpose of imprisonment in respect of persons who have committed crimes in the past five years. The proceedings are intended for graduate students, students, teachers, legal educational institutions, as well as all interested in the problems of criminal law.
