Abstract:
The article deals with the perfecting the criminal procedure legislation of the Russian Federation and pre-trial proceedings, in particular. Separate problems of the inquiry in the criminal procedure are analyzed. The author’s attitude towards the institute of the inquiry in its reduced form, introduced to the RF Criminal Procedure Code in 2013, and in essence of “the public prosecutor’s inquiry”, regulated by the Criminal Court Proceedings Statute (1864), are presented.
