Abstract:
The article devoted to problems of improvement of the modern criminal policy in Kyrgyzstan, with a focus on the reduction of the repressive capacity of the criminal law and humanization of the criminal justice system. In 2007, the changes and amendments to Criminal, Criminal Procedural and Criminal Executive codes were introduced, aimed at humanization of criminal policy. Institutions of reconciliation procedures, expanded possibilities of early conditional release from punishment introduced. A number of punishments alternative to imprisonment also introduced, death penalty abolished. Wider and more actively involve the public in the processes of prevention of crime, for example, the so-called elders ' courts, the resolution of legal conflicts, not representing big public danger. In this regard, the vector of the so-called «soft» justice seems to be actual development paradigm of the criminal policy of Kyrgyzstan.
