Abstract:
In today's world most of the western states are positioning themselves as social ones. The article presents the analysis of the functions of the modern social state, with respect to the specifics needs of the modern state and society. Diversity of modern approaches to the understanding of a social state generates a lot of doctrines both Russian and foreign authors[Espin-Andersen G., 1990, p. 248], to the characteristics of its functions and purposes. You can select some basic approaches to the understanding of the nature of a social state : the relationship of a legal and a social state , because a social state is considered as a new stage in the development of a legal state , a social state is obliged to provide a decent standard of life , a social state as a social and regulative state that must actively intervene in the economy and social sphere ; a social state as a social and political referee governing the relations of labor and capital , the methods of pressure on state power. A modern social state assumes the responsibility of system solutions of the complex of social issues, including the implementation , protection and guarantee of social and economic rights and freedoms of citizens . The modern world having a tendency to globalization must take into account different aspects and approaches to the understanding of nature of a social state. The article first provides a systematic response to a variety of approaches to understanding the social state. This article is intended for those interested in the problems of the welfare state.
