The article provides the analysis of some conceptual approaches, found in the Customs Union Agreement on common principles and rules of competition. It covers the complications which can arise if these approaches are applied into managerial and economic practice in Russian. The author, in terms of his research, showed a tendency towards the complication of legal norms regulating the competition, within the framework of the methodological approaches. He proposed the variants how the terms of competition principles can be transformed.
