Abstract:

This article analyzes the main provisions of the two new European Union legal acts, adopted at the beginning of 2014 - Regulation № 596/2014 and Directive № 2014/57, aimed to prevent abuses in the financial markets of the EU by the participants - individuals and legal entities. The author analyzes the innovations of these documents and conducts a comparative research on the previously existing EU legislation in this area of law. The article says that the adoption and implementation of new legal acts complements the purely economic measures, which were widely used until 2014 in order to prevent financial instability by administrative law and criminal law regulation
