TERRORIST ACTS IN EUROPE AS AN EXAMPLE OF THE CRISIS OF THE EUROPEAN SECURITY SYSTEM

Objective: The main purpose of this article is to identify the key reasons for the emergence of Islamic terrorism in Europe, to substantiate the relevance of this problem, and to consider the possibility of cooperation between the EU and Russia to solve the problem of extremism. The reason for writing this work is the significance and importance of the topic covered in the study. Materials and methods: The article was carried out using systematization and analysis of the data of the largest Russian and foreign mass media. In the paperwork was also used the opinions of scientists specializing in migration issues and in the sphere of security in the European region. Conclusion: Solving the demographic crisis in the European Union through attracting migrants from the Middle East and North Africa has led to many other problems, including the problem of ensuring security in the region. Despite the fact that European security services cannot cope with this task alone, the EU authorities refuse to cooperate with Russia in this area. At the same time, our country is one of the recognized leaders in this field, which has a rich experience in combating terrorism and religious extremism. It creates a critical situation that can affect the future of Europe. Social consequences: The terrorist threat has a tremendous impact on the processes taking place in European society. Primarily, destabilization and radicalization of the population of the countries of Europe takes place. These processes lead to an increase in anti-Islamic sentiments and, as a result, an increase of the number in interethnic and interreligious conflicts in the region. Value: The article will be useful for reading to specialists dealing with migration issues in the EU, as well as for those who study approaches to security in the European region.
