Abstract:
The main objective of this work is to reveal the trends and regularities of the constructive dialog between the Cossack communities and the governmental institutions and state authorities in the period before the October Socialist Revolution. The topicality of this study results from the indeterminate position of the modern Cossacks, which has been formed and can be observed today. The Cossacks are right in the middle between the public and governmental service. The principles of historicism, scientific nature, analyticity, and criticism in understanding the sources and factological materials were used as the main methodological basis. A special role is played by “personification” of the Cossack history. This work is expected to determine the major vectors of the integration of the Cossack communities into the systems and structures of the social state and into the democratic social activities.
