COOPERATION OF RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH AND GOVERNMENT IN SOCIAL AND POLITICAL LIFE OF MODERN RUSSIA

Problem: At the present time there is a strengthening of the role of the Russian Orthodox Church in the socio-political life of the Russian society. In these conditions the search for the most appropriate ways of coordination of the efforts of public authorities with such a powerful socio-political institution as the Russian Orthodox Church gains a special relevance. In the article we tried to highlight current and perspective ways of their cooperation in solving domestic and foreign political problems of the Russian Federation. Methodology: observation, comparative-historical and structural-functional methods were used in the research. These methods allow following the role of the Russian Orthodox Church and the features of the attitudes of some population groups in the different periods of the development of our society. Results: The role of the Russian Orthodox Church in the socio-political life of the Russian society was investigated. The main ways of the cooperation of the Russian Orthodox Church and the government were highlighted and the optional ways of the coordination of their efforts in solving domestic and foreign political problems were proposed. Originality: the article can be useful for the wide range of the specialists who are interested in the problems of the relationship between religious denominatives and the government in the modern Russia.
