Abstract:
Despite the efforts of the legislator, the victims’ rights protection is still an up-to-date problem of modern development of the system of criminal procedure law. Foreign experience in protecting the victim’s rights can also be used to reform Russian legislation. In particular, we believe, that the idea of creating specialized compensation funds, that would make possible the harm compensation caused to crime’s victim, should not be denied. In modern Russia, the problem of harm compensation caused to the crime’s victim is particularly acute. The problem of financing this type of funds may be solved by a consolidated approach, which is pretty common in Canada.
