Abstract:
The classical concepts of democracy are analyzed in the article in the focus of the conditions of Russia and other CIS countries, which are close to it in the historical and cultural dimensions. The conclusion is that theses of J.-J. Rousseau and John Stuart Mill are more close to the theoretical concepts of democracy and the real practice of democracy in CIS countries.
