Abstract:
The article is devoted to the actual problem of extremism and terrorism among the youth, which is one of the key issues of our time, and if we do not take drastic measures for its solution, it can take the leading place in the crimes statistics. In the author’s opinion, the youth civic socialization process, reflected in the formation of civic identity as well as on relations with civil institutions of society is of high importance in the solution of the problem. Due to a weak social interaction there are no conditions for civil competencies formation and implementation at present. Parents and relatives, and school, society, state after them within the family have a great influence on the formation of values, socially useful guides. The author is sure that leisure organizations (clubs, sports clubs) can become a powerful tool both in the process of tolerance education and the skills of intercultural communication development, which is of no less importance for the extremist and terrorist manifestations prevention among the youth. As extremism and terrorism comprise people of different ages, measures for their prevention should be taken according to the age of a young person. The article notes the need for efforts to improve the social status of families and employment. The author comes to the conclusion, that the problem of extremism and terrorism prevention can find a successful solution with active participation of public authorities, educational institutions, family, and the individual himself.
