Abstract:
Protest voting is one of the least studied forms of electoral behavior and the analysis of examples of this phenomenon in the regions of the Russian Federation is of great scientific interest. Not in all cases, objective factors become the motives for the implementation of protest voting, in some cases, subjective factors act as the reasons for such electoral behavior. The article attempts to identify the relationship between the quality of life and the level of protest potential in Russian regions. In order to explain the possible reasons for the protest vote in the election of the Governor of Primorsky Krai in 2018 and the election of deputies of the Legislative Assembly of Primorsky Krai in 2021, the analysis of the main socio-economic indicators that, in the opinion of the authors, have a significant impact on the level of protest sentiment among residents of Primorsky Krai.
