Annotation:
The article analyzes the socio-philosophical ideas of M. Castells, concerning the changes, taking place in culture in the conditions of globalization. The author of the article studied four basic models of culture, identified in one of his recently published works by Castells: branded consumerism, cosmopolitanism, networked individualism and multi-culturalism. Agreeing on the whole with the statements of M. Castells, the author believes, that a number of processes and phenomena in modern culture, he stated quite simply, in particular, this applies to cosmopolitanism, based on certain universal values.
