Abstract:
The purpose of the research is to conduct a comprehensive socio-philosophical and methodological analysis of the ontological status of artificial intelligence (AI) systems, which in modern managerial and cultural practice are transforming from instrumental means into quasi-subjective entities – experts and consultants. The paper aims to explicate the epistemological grounds for trust in algorithmic decisions and identify the risks arising from delegating the functions of selecting social innovations and curating collective memory to neural networks. The conclusions obtained in the course of the research demonstrate that the integration of AI into social decision-making processes forms the phenomenon of “algorithmic normalization,” where the truth of an innovation is replaced by its probabilistic predictability. It is proven that in the role of a consultant, AI contributes to the recursive stagnation of social development, locking the future into patterns of the past, while the function of social memory transforms from a hermeneutic process of meaning-making into a technical procedure of data archiving devoid of temporal depth. The necessity of introducing the principle of “hybrid responsibility” and revising ethical norms of human-machine interaction is substantiated.
