Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to clarify and justify military policy as a strategy for ensuring national security in the face of drastic changes in the spectrum and direction of external threats, taking into account the interests of Russia as one of the centers of global power. The article analyzes new challenges to national security that have led to the reorientation of Russia’s military strategy, the identification of fundamentally new means, methods, and technologies for ensuring military security. Special attention is paid to the role and importance of military policy in achieving national interests and maintaining reliable security of society and the state. It has been established that in modern conditions, efforts to achieve military superiority are being transferred to new areas at the global level – space, cyberspace, hybrid wars, especially psychological operations and those implemented in the information, economic, environmental, financial, political, legal, and humanitarian spheres. The scale of proxy wars is growing as international conflicts between countries seeking to achieve their own goals through military actions taking place on the territory and using the resources of a third country under the guise of resolving an internal conflict in that third country.
