Abstract:

The article examines the specifics of legal cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Swiss Confederation in civil and family matters. The history of the formation and development of diplomatic relations between the two States is shown, which directly affected the current state of cooperation in various spheres of interstate relations. It is noted that Russia and Switzerland attributed more than two hundred year relationship that was not stable and friendly, moreover, for almost four decades, diplomatic relations have been interrupted. The cooperation of the two States in civil and family matters is based on the provisions of multilateral conventions of the Hague conference on private international law, as well as a bilateral interdepartmental agreement - the Declaration of intent on cooperation in the field of legal assistance in civil and criminal matters of 1994, which, in fact, does not detail the issues of such cooperation.
