Abstract:
Corruption is undisputedly one of the most dangerous phenomena in the Russian present-day society. This social «illness» has become intertwined with all life aspects and is decomposing them from the inside. The negative impact of corruption crime affects all people in our country. In addition, corruption has a very negative impact on the development of the country's economy. Corruption-oriented official crimes deform the development of market relations, restrict competition, they significantly reduce the effective demand of households, firms and the state and, as a result, restrain production growth. In addition, large-scale corruption exerts inflationary pressure on the economy, and also creates the need to increase the tax burden on the existing business, causing a decline in business activity. In this article, we will consider the main effects that occur in the economy as a result of corrupt activities.
