Abstract:
The article examines the criminological characteristics of international terrorism, which predetermine the probable directions of development of the given phenomenon of social reality. Substantiates the hypothesis that the modern international terrorism as social and destructive phenomenon in modern conditions is characterized by the following qualitative criminological characteristics: the network nature of international terrorist organizations; intensification of terrorist acts with parallel regionalization of the main non-state actors of terrorism; the multinational nature of terrorism; the development of religious doctrine which justifies quasi-values of terrorists; widespread use of the practice of suicide of terrorism; the symbiosis with organized crime; active use of information technologies for terrorist purposes; the orientation of terrorist organizations in the seizure of weapons of mass destruction. Concludes that in the twenty-first century, international terrorism is a complex multi-level network social and destructive phenomenon, which involve in all diversity of interacting terrorist organizations. Criminal activity of those organizations based on religious-ethnic paradigm and focuses on changing geopolitical spacing of power in the modern world. The methodological basis of the article comprises methods such as statistical analysis, theoretical analysis and expert assessment method.
