Abstract:
The article analyzes methodological approaches in the studies of customary law of a certain ethnos. The author focuses on field methods of Ethnography used in legal anthropology, including direct observation, interviews, survey, audio-visual fixation of materials. Through these methods there is collected the empirical material on the legal traditions. The author makes a review of the contribution of V. N. Tenishev, and A. M. Ladyzhenskiy in the development of the methodology of legal anthropology.
