Criminal liability for manifestations of Fascism and Nazism in the Russian Federation

Task: Preserving the authenticity of history, especially the facts and results of the Great Patriotic war (1941-1945), is one of the most important issues of state policy for the Russian Federation. Attempts in Russia and the world to rewrite the history of the World War II, as well as the intensification of Nazi- and Fascist movements, make us remember these criminal phenomena again. The struggle against fascism and Nazism is closely linked to the preservation and protection of the established facts and the results of one of the largest military conflicts in human history. The domestic legal system provides for various mechanisms to combat these phenomena, including criminal law. However, the existing norms are not perfect and require further development. This study is necessary to characterize the existing rules of law establishing criminal liability for the manifestations of Fascism and Nazism by observing the state and political guidelines for the preservation and protection of historical facts and the results of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). Model: The analysis of normative legal acts of the Russian Federation and other sources on the subject was carried out. Conclusions: The existing criminal law provisions aimed at combating manifestations of Fascism and Nazism have significant gaps and require further development and improvement. Originality: The Scientific article contains debatable questions and non-proliferation approach to the analysis of the existing criminal law norms aimed at combating manifestations of Fascism and Nazism by preserving and protecting the historical facts and results of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).
