Abstract:
This article is devoted to the analysis of properties inherent in the characteristics of appearance, which make it possible to establish the personality of a wanted person who is wanted by description. As methods, the study of normative and legal acts, technical and software tools used for the compilation of a photo sketch, procedural documents including description of signs of appearance, comparative analysis, experiment were selected. The importance of the characteristic properties of signs of appearance for the purposes of tracing and identification, the production of identification and identification, the registration and conduct of expert studies, when verifying allegations and reports of crimes and establishing the persons involved in their commission can not be overestimated. At the same time, they are orientational in nature, but when properly used, compilation methods can play a decisive role in the investigation.
