Abstract:
The article considers the reasons, mechanism and significance of the second Soviet codification - a large-scale reform of Soviet legislation in the 60s- 0s of the 0th century, which determined the content of legal regulation in Russia for several decades and laid the foundations of a modern legal system. The author believes that the experience of Soviet codification must be taken into account in the current trend of registration of new branches of law. As a result of the research, the author comes to the conclusion that codification makes it possible to improve communication between various sub-sectors and legal institutions, to prevent artificial and irrational complication of the system of law.
