In the article the essence of the organization of the operative-investigative activity of the internal affairs bodies on revealing thefts and car thefts is considered. A number of aspects of the problematic organization of operational search activity are revealed, a set (system) of special organizational measures is being formulated by the heads of internal affairs agencies, operational units and other entities in order to effectively use the operative-search forces, activities, means and methods to disclose thefts and hijackings of vehicles
