Abstract:
The publication is a reconstruction based on the author's memories and personal archive, which examines the formation of the military-historical movement in the country using the example of the Sverdlovsk (Yekaterinburg) military-historical club. The article addresses the challenges faced by novice Soviet historians during the "perestroika" era in choosing the subject and methods of studying the past.
