The membership fees as source of financing of political parties

Despite the large number of publications devoted to the problems of funding of political parties, issues related to the analysis of specific sources of funding, has not yet received adequate coverage. The aim of this work is the analysis of membership fees of political parties as source of financing their activities. The subject of the research are the membership fees of political parties as source of financing their activities. Membership fees are one of the oldest and most reliable sources of funding. They were used as a source of financing and the RCP(b)-CPSU, the political parties of pre-revolutionary Russia. Membership fees are not only a source of financing the party activities, but are one of the ways of maintaining the connection of political parties with their members. The payer of the membership fees can be only the person who is a member of this political party. Despite all the advantages of membership fees, the majority of Russian parties are not paying these funding sources sufficient attention, therefore the proportion of their revenue in the party budget is very small. This indicates an underestimation of these sources of funding and the potential for revenue generation in the party budgets. The scientific results can be used in the development of local regulations of political parties which regulates issues concerning the procedure of collection and accounting of the fees, preparation of manuals on the constitutional law and history of domestic state and law. The article may be of interest to managers and employees of apparatuses of political parties, professors and law students with an interest in the funding of political parties.
