Abstract:
The article deals with problems of victimization of inmates held in prisons, and above all deals with assessment and level of their victimization and reveal figure of victimization that based on its structural content. In order to justify the directions of further improvement activities for preventing the victimization of this group of prisoners in the given research the author identifies some factors that contribute to the accumulation of their victimogenic potential that often can lead to the commission of crimes against them. The logical conclusion of the article are the proposals for the prevention of victimization of persons serving sentences in correctional institutions. Goals: Analysis and assessment of the level of victimization of inmates held in prisons, the development of tools for the prevention of victimization of inmates in correctional facilities, The researching was carried out by using the following methods: analysis and synthesis of existing research on this issue, analyzing the security practices of correctional institutions convicts to the sentences, methods of sociological unit (quiz of prisoners ,an interviews with correctional officers). Application of results. The results can be used in the activities of correctional institutions to combat crimes in prisons, security of convicts serving sentences in prisons, protection of their rights and freedoms. Also, this study can be used in the educational process in the law faculties of educational institutions.
