Abstract:
The task is to analyze the need for the existence of the Institute of pardon in the Russian Federation at the present stage of development of society and legislation. Model: when writing the article the statistical data of the number of pardoned convicts from 1992 to 2016, the work of the commissions on pardon in the territories of the Russian Federation, as well as the practice of their consideration of applications for pardon were analyzed. Conclusions: isolated cases of pardon in Russia say that the Institute at present has lost its relevance. The scope of the study / the possibility of subsequent use of the results of scientific work: the results of this article can be used in the further study of the Institute of pardon in the Russian Federation. Practical value: the conclusions obtained in the article can be used in scientific work and law enforcement practice. Social consequences: the results of the scientific work done can be the basis for improving the efficiency of judicial and legislative bodies. Originality / value: the work as a whole is intended for a wide range of readers interested in criminal law issues, including those relating to the institution of pardon.
