Task: the task that faced the author of the article is to analyze the overall state of the legal protection of the rights and freedoms of the individual. A special role in safeguarding the rights and freedoms of the person performs the President, acting in accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation as the guarantor of the rights and freedoms of man and citizen. A personal study of its special status and specific authority allows the President of the Russian Federation to fulfill the mission entrusted to him by the Constitution of the Russian Federation in this area. Model: This work is based on the methods of empirical and theoretical research, traditional dialectical and formal logic and such methods as formal dogmatic, statistical and other. Conclusions: The Author concludes that the implementation of the President's powers in the sphere of protection of the rights and freedoms of man and citizen is carried out both personally and through the bodies of presidential power, which can be referred to the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on assistance to development of institutes of civil society and human rights. Value: This work can be useful to law students, especially in studying certain topics on the subject "Constitutional law of the Russian Federation" and can also be used in the educational process.
