Abstract:
The presented article considers terrorism as a complex and multifaceted phenomenon that disrupts the normal way of life of certain segments of society, undermining the stable functioning of state structures, the work of some parts of its apparatus. In a developed democracy, counter-terrorism activities should be one of the main tasks of ensuring national security. In the historical past, Russia has accumulated vast experience in combating terrorists and terrorist organizations, which is used in modern conditions in intelligence, counterintelligence, operative-search activities, military affairs and other spheres of activity. Today, the Russian Federation is pursuing an active policy of countering terrorism, the purpose of which is to protect the individual, society and the state from terrorist acts and other manifestations of terrorism, and the legal basis for combating the activities of terrorist organizations has been formed and continues to develop.
