Abstract:
The article analyzes the provisions of the conventions adopted by the Hague Conference on Private International Law, «family-legal», including the Convention on the Conclusion and Recognition of the Validity of Marriages (1978), the Convention on the Law Applicable to the Spouses' Ownership Regimes of (1978), the Convention on the recognition of divorces and decisions on separation of spouses (1970), the Convention on the Law applicable to maintenance obligations for children (1956), in which the vast majority of European countries participate, but the Russian Federation eration in the number of signatories is not included. It is noted that these conventions reflect the opinion of the international community regarding the importance of international legal protection of the rights of spouses and children, the basic standards that the national family legislation of the participating states must comply with, with a view to maximum protection and protection of the family rights of their citizens. The study also covers the norms of the Family Code of the Russian Federation on the conclusion and dissolution of marriages, the grounds for recognizing marriages as invalid, and maintenance for the maintenance of underage children. Russia's accession to these international conventions will make it possible to bring Russian family legislation to a qualitatively new level in line with international standards.
