Italian Territorial Division Problems

The present article analyses the problem of territorial division of Italy. The author reviews the role of historical development of Italy and its importance in the formation of current structure in Italian regional division. The core part of the research is dedicated to the problem of control of the central power over Italian regions. The article shows the sources of income coming to regional and local budgets and the distribution structure of such incomes. The author resumes on the historically justified territorial division of the country and lack of necessity in constitutional amendments in the matter.
