Abstract:
The Constitution of 2006 established as a basic principle the unity of the legal system of the Republic of Serbia. The Constitution is the highest legal act in the legal system of Serbia. Ratified international treaties are part of the legal system of the Republic of Serbia and shall not contradict the Constitution. To ensure compliance with the hierarchy, the Constitutional Court of Serbia has a new authority to verify the constitutionality of international treaties. The above-mentioned authority of the Constitutional Court of Serbia has significant features, the analysis of which is presented in this article.
