Abstract:

According to classical concept, aging is a practically inevitable trait of living systems caused by accumulation of small damages, defects and mutations during their life. However recently an alternative point of view is becoming accepted by some biologists and other scientists. This new theory describes aging as a result of activity of a special biological (genetic) program, invented in the process of development of living things for acceleration of their biological evolution. This point of view is discussed in this paper.
