Abstract:
With the transition of the modern world to a knowledge-oriented economy and the growing relevance of an inclusive development model, the public's attention to the quality of education and its effectiveness is growing. Rich countries have more potential to improve the quality of education and consequently to win in the formation of human capital. The objective of this paper was to determine whether there is a real opportunity for countries with lower GDP per capita to narrow the gap in the quality of labor training and competitiveness of workers. The methodology of the study is based on a quantitative analysis of the dynamics of schoolchild assessments for different disciplines and countries. The influence of GDP per capita on the assessments of schoolchildren of different countries was revealed. It is shown that countries with relatively low per capita GDP can catch up with the richer and use their resources more effectively for the qualitative training of the younger generation and the growth of human capital. At the same time, an increase in GDP per capita creates a logical opportunity for the growth of educational success for young people. The results of the work can be used to plan the development of education. They will be useful for education workers, as well as for long-term planning in the field of education and labor economics.
