In this article, an attempt is made to systematize knowledge about the methods of activity of law enforcement bodies in ensuring law and order during the period of election campaigning. The structure of the methods of «persuasion» «coercion» that has developed in the activity of law enforcement bodies to ensure law and order is considered. At the same time, it was noted that it is not complete at the present stage of development of social relations in the period under review. The author's assertion about the formation of the «restriction» method in the activity of the internal affairs bodies on ensuring law and order during the period of the pre-election promotion is substantiated.
