Task is to analyze the current state of legislation and law enforcement practices of organizing and holding checks of the statements and reports of crime, for the use at this stage of special knowledge. Model - Methodological basis is the scientific works in the field of criminal procedure, criminal and constitutional law, criminalistics, theory of the operative-investigative activity, the theory of state and law. In preparation of this article was applied to public and private research methods, including the historical-legal, systemic, legal, and other systems analysis of the studied phenomena and results used method of concrete sociological research and the analysis of results of activity of law-enforcement bodies. Conclusions - Conclusions In the course of the study revealed the need for the systematic processing of the current legislation, regulating the procedure of criminal proceedings; the directions of improvement of the Code of criminal procedure of the Russian Federation are offered. Research/the possibility of subsequent use of results of scientific work is devoted to Study of the issues of application of special knowledge in the initial phase of criminal proceedings - during examination of applications (messages) about the crime/ the results of the study can be used to further improve the considered phase of criminal proceedings. Practical value - formulated conclusions contribute to the optimization of process validation statements (messages) about the crime, in increasing of energy efficiency in the review process of special knowledge. Originality/value - prepared a research paper includes discussion questions and is intended for anyone who is interested in a criminal proceeding in respect of the organization and validation of statements and reports of crime, as well as the use of special knowledge in the considered process.
