Abstract:
The democratic state assumes freedom of mass media and their protection. Each state has to provide normal conditions for implementation of activity of journalists. On the basis of the analysis of the international and national legislation the author analyzes the mechanism of protection of the rights of journalists in conditions in the conditions of armed conflict and at introduction of the mode of counter-terrorist operation in a certain territory. It must be remembered that the priority before the right to inform society is the release of hostages, since human life is more valuable than public awareness. Media representatives should not exacerbate the situation, exaggerate and falsify facts. Do not shock the population with naturalism in describing the events.
