Abstract:
The adoption of the Constitution of 2006 gave new impetus to the development of Serbian constitutionalism. Its core is the constitutional principles set forth in the Preamble and Part one of the Constitution. According to article 1 of the 2006 Constitution of Serbia the Republic of Serbia is the state of the Serbian people and all its citizens, based on the rule of law and social justice, principles of civil democracy, human and minority rights and freedoms, and commitment to European principles and values. The constitutional principles established in the 2006 Constitution can be divided into the fundamentals of the constitutional order and the constitutional basics of the legal status of persons and minorities. The modern fundamental principles of the constitutional order of the Republic of Serbia are the subject of this article.
