Abstract:
According to the Constitution of 2006, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia is unicameral and consists of two hundred and fifty people's deputies elected by direct elections with secret ballot. The internal structure of the National Assembly is currently regulated by the Law on the National Assembly and its Rules. The Chairman, his deputies and the Board of the National Assembly organize the work of all structures of the National Assembly, ensuring their coordinated functioning. Parliamentary committees and commissions, as a functional component of the National Assembly, greatly simplify and accelerate the process of decision-making by the National Assembly within its competence. Parliamentary groups, reflecting the political structure of the National Assembly, provide political parties with the opportunity to influence the activities of both the Serbian Parliament as a whole and individual people's deputies who are members of parliamentary groups, in particular. The specific features of the legal regulation of the internal structure of the Parliament of the Republic of Serbia are the subject of this article.
